Leticia Stauch’s lawyers are trying to get her committed to a psychiatric facility
The state letting Leticia Stauch and her lawyers know that the remains from Florida are those of Gannon Stauch has led to Leticia Stauch lawyers pulling out the insanity card in order to keep her out of the State of Colorado Correctional Facility for Women.
Leticia Stauch’s lawyers wrote a motion to Judge Gregory Werner telling him that the state needs to evaluate their client in order to see if she’s right in the head enough to stand trial because anybody who kills an 11-year kid and then dumps his body several states over and goes and sips on sweet ice tea isn’t right in the head.
Judge Gregory Werner granted the motion because he knows that it’s just all part of the game for the defense to try and get their clients committed after the state finds a body linking the defenses’ clients to the sin of murder.
Leticia Stauch’s lawyers, of course, are happier than a dog with three meaty T-Bones because they think there’s a chance their client will get a chance to spend the rest of her days as one of those who “Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest.”
The state, however, is like, “Leticia Stauch won’t be spending anytime in ‘the Cuckoo Nest’ because after our quacks gives us our evaluation she’ll be ‘Walking the Green Mile’ in a black and white pin stripe dress.”
If the state and the defense’s psych evaluations aren’t in sync, then Judge Gregory Werner will render the final verdict on whether Leticia Stauch should spend the rest of her days as a psych patient.
Now, if the state and defense’s psych doctors say that Leticia Stauch is indeed crazier than a looney toon, then she can be held until the psych doctors are able to get her right in the head enough for her to understand that she’s going on trial for killing 11-year-old Gannon Stauch. The doctors can also hold her forever, under the first degree murder charge, and treat her until she expires.
Leticia Stauch and her lawyers are hoping for the latter because folks in prison don’t take too kindly to child killers; which Gannon Stauch’s dead body says that Leticia Stauch is.
